UJ Tech

Universal joints and cardan shafts for steel, paper, shipbuilding and rail equipment — designed and built in-house since 1999

UJ Tech

Company overview

UJ Tech manufactures universal joints and cardan shafts — couplings that transmit power when the driving and driven shafts are not in line or when the angle between them changes. The company began in May 1982 in automotive parts, moved into industrial universal joint manufacturing in June 1999, and incorporated in January 2015. The range covers 13 types from small to large, plus a separate cardan shaft series for locomotives: medium-duty flange types, heavy-duty types, cross-pin types, bearing types and constant-velocity joints. They are fitted into the drive lines of steel plant equipment, rolling mills, paper mills, special-purpose vehicles, railway rolling stock, ships and pumps. The company holds three registered patents covering joint durability and drive efficiency, and runs an accredited R&D department. It is certified to ISO 9001 and holds INNO-BIZ (technology-innovative SME) and venture business certification. It first approached the Vietnamese market at exhibitions in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City in 2014.

Main products

Medium-duty flange-type joints

Medium-duty flange-type joints

A medium-duty universal joint connected shaft-to-shaft by flanges. It transmits power where the two shafts are not parallel or where one shaft moves, and is used on rolling and calender drives and general industrial machinery.

Heavy-duty universal joints

Heavy-duty universal joints

A joint for drive lines that carry high torque. The body is forged for strength, and the series is applied where loads and continuous running are demanding, such as steel plant equipment and rolling mill lines.

Cardan shafts for locomotives

A cardan shaft designed and produced specifically for railway vehicle drive lines. It is built to transmit power while the position and angle between shafts change continuously in service.

Constant-velocity joints

Constant-velocity joints

A joint that keeps rotational speed constant even as the angle between the two shafts changes. It is used on drive lines where speed fluctuation must be reduced, and is supplied as a standard catalogue item.

Key capabilities

  • Thirteen standard types, from small to large, kept as catalogue items
  • Forged bodies built for high torque and continuous operation
  • Large-line supply record, including 524 sets delivered direct to a steel rolling line in Korea
  • Purpose-built designs such as cardan shafts for railway vehicles

Target buyers

  • Importers and distributors of power transmission components
  • Industrial machinery repair and maintenance companies
  • End users in steel, paper, shipbuilding and rail equipment
