Company overview

EAST is an industrial automation company founded in 2022. It develops both the equipment hardware and the inspection and monitoring software in house. The company designs and builds SPOT and CO2 welding jigs for car bodies, chassis, doors and hoods, and installs automated lines for parts assembly and inspection. Alongside this it supplies vision inspection systems that detect defects by camera, a digital fool-proof system that manages critical process conditions such as injection moulding temperature, and a data platform that collects equipment status in real time. Its customers are Korean automotive parts manufacturers and public sector bodies. Design and fabrication are carried out at the head office in Gyeongsan, Gyeongsangbuk-do and at two plants in Daegu. EAST registered a corporate research institute in 2023, was certified as a venture business by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups in 2024, and has filed five patent applications covering vision inspection and fool-proof control. In 2025 it exhibited a compact vision inspection unit at CES and was named an outstanding company at MEGA-US in Vietnam.

Main products

Vision inspection system

Inspection equipment that judges product defects automatically using cameras and image recognition. Judgement is more consistent than visual inspection, installation constraints are low enough to add it to an existing line, and it can be operated on site without an outside engineer.

Digital fool-proof system

A quality control system that prevents operator error by monitoring and controlling process conditions that drive defects, such as injection moulding temperature. It links into an existing manufacturing process, and combined with the data platform it also keeps a quality history.

Data platform

Software that collects, analyses and displays equipment status and process data in real time. It provides analysis and reporting so that abnormalities are caught early, and the scope of integration is adjusted to existing plant systems such as MES.

Welding and assembly automation

Design and fabrication of SPOT and CO2 welding jigs for car bodies, chassis, doors and hoods, together with automated lines for parts assembly and inspection. Industrial robot control, PCB and PLC design and embedded software are handled in house.
